2 Free Spring Break Ideas

It is never too early to start planning your Spring Break time with your children. Hotels offer early booking discounts and airline fares are at their lowest.

The challenge is finding things to do with them that will be entertaining, educational and budget conscious all at the same time.

So I found 2 free and fun self-guided walking tours that you can explore with your Keiki.

First is the Waikiki Historical Trail.

Not only does this walking tour provide you with the history of Waikiki, it also give you all kinds of exciting facts, dates, interesting stories and even legends.

The tour takes you to 21 different spots, starting out at the Outrigger Canoe Club, then on to Kings Alley where King David Kalakaua once had a residence back in the 1800s. The trail ends at marker #21 or Kalakua Park.

Go to www.waikiki.com/waikiki-historic-trail.html to get the details.

The next tour is called “Obama’s Neighborhood.”

This walking tour will take you on a journey to where the President was born, past the apartment he grew up in, to Punahou Schools where he attended.

You can even check out the Baskin-Robbins he once worked at and the courts at Washington Middle School where he developed his love of basketball.
