4 Financial Moves As 2015 Ends

Christmas and New Years will be here in a flash. Before the craziness begins here are 4 Financial Moves to make before year’s end.

Financial Move #1: Create or update your Will.

It’s not as hard as it seems. You can visit your local estate planning attorney or search for free templates that will allow you to fill in the blanks. Then there is always websites like LegalZoom.com that will do it for a nominal fee.

Financial Move #2: Update your beneficiaries.

Did anything change in your life this year. For example did you have another child, get divorced, or get married. Updating your beneficiaries on your life insurance policy, investment accounts, trust and bank accounts is a good year end exercise.

Financial Move #3: Take your tax deduction now.

If you own a business now is the time to purchase business supplies and equipment you will need for next year. Doing it this month will allow you to take the deduction for 2015.

Financial Move #4: Back Up Documents.

Scan and store all of your important financial documents on an external hard drive and be sure to shred those documents before disposing of them.

Doing this before the 1st of the year will prepare you for the new year.
