4 Fun Easter Money-Saving Tips

Easter is right around the corner. I’m sure your kids are looking forward to dying eggs, candy-filled Easter baskets and hunting for Easter eggs.

Yet the cost for some of these holiday items have been on the rise and could put a dent in your budget.

So here are 5 Easter money-saving tips:

#1. Do you really need to buy new Easter baskets?

Try using last year’s buckets or baskets that are stored in the garage. Or you can use old plastic ice cream tubs and decorate them.

#2. Don’t color 4 or 5 flats of eggs.

Drop that down to a dozen or so. Replace the rest with plastic eggs that can be used over and over again.

#3. Make your own baskets instead of buying pre-filled ones.

You can save 50% when you make your own. We fill up our kids’ baskets with their favorite breakfast cereals. We also get things from the dollar store that make their baskets look full.

#4. Bake instead of buying your Easter treats.

Cookies, cupcakes and Rice Krispies treats are always a hit. And they’ll love them even more when they know you made them.
