6 Holiday Money Saving Tips

Can you believe Christmas is tomorrow?

If you are like most Americans, this has been a busy year and the holidays snuck up on us quick. So, if you have not made your Christmas plans yet, here are 6 last-minute tips to help you save some money.

1. DIY your decorations. Try using beautiful plants, flowers, evergreen trimmings and even dried flowers to spice up the dinner table.

2. Start your shopping in your pantry first before going to the grocery store. You may be surprised and find a lot of the ingredients you will need.

3. Pot luck it. You don’t have to carry the load each year for Christmas dinner. Ask others to bring a dish or dessert to help out.

4. Click the “Like” button on your favorite grocer’s social media pages. Most of them offer special deals and hidden savings opportunities for their online followers.

5. Search the local papers and in-store flyers for coupons.

6. Look back at last year’s Christmas meal and cut out the dish that had the most leftovers. Why keep making a dish that no one will eat?
