101 Financial Has Completely Changed Our Lives

Friday, September 8th, 2017

Iosefo Tavita

Its been a little over 2 years since my wife and I took that first step towards financial peace of mind! My reasons for taking this leap of faith was much more than just paying off debt. After many attempts to get some kind of life insurance for myself and family, we were denied. I truly felt I had failed as a provider for my family.

How would they survive if I were gone? The only option left was to pay off as much debt as quickly as possible.

Now where do I start? When my wife first told me about 101 Financial, I honestly didn’t think anything of it. It wasn’t until months later after she attended a 101 Financial Workshop when I finally took notice.

After watching the video presentation online I was all in! That was the best thing that could’ve happened to our family! Within the first 5 months as a 101 Financial System student, we paid off over $20,000 of consumer debt.

Using what our Instructors taught us, we were able to purchase a much needed vehicle free and clear of any auto loan. Then 6 months later, my wife sent in her last payment for her student loan which she has had for over 10 years.

Had it not been for the education of 101 Financial, she’d be on the hook for another 10+ years. Let me not forget to mention that even though the Mrs. was out of work for 2 months when our son was born, the usual financial stress that comes with a newborn was non-existent.

What blows my mind is that we were able to do all of this with the same income and the same jobs! We didn’t work any overtime and were never asked to sell anything.

101 Financial has completely changed our lives. I have since learned that you don’t have to be debt-free in order to gain Financial Peace of Mind. This is a fact, for we have been at peace with our finances since the beginning of this journey. Most people are so busy trying to earn more money, when they should learn how to keep most of what they earn.

I think back to the phone interviews with all the insurance agents and I remember the sick feeling in my stomach after each denial. A year later with just the mortgage to pay off I am filled with so much gratitude for this company and I would like to thank Alan Akina for 101 Financial!

Making the Decision to Change My Life

“It Is In Your Moments Of Decision That Your Destiny Is Shaped.”
-Tony Robbins

Making the decision to change my life using the 101 Financial System was the best decision I have made. This system has gotten me through all of my ups and downs throughout my life.

I started my system back in 2006. I had just graduated from college and I had no idea what I was going to do with my life. All I knew is that I had college debt and a car.

My parents kept pestering me to look at this program that they just enrolled in and they found a lot of success with. I ended up giving in. I listened to them and enrolled in the 101 Financial System. It was great. I paid everything off within that first year and a half, and my story doesn’t end there.

I ended up getting married and having our first child. That was a crazy financial roller coaster ride. His medical bills were close to $10,000, plus much more to take care of him.

We decided to move in with my grandparents, so we remodeled their home. We loved living with them because my son has an awesome relationship with his great grandparents. Then my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, so we decided is was time for us to move in to her place and help her out. I never realized how much it costs to move.

Fast-forward to today… If it wasn’t for my parents prodding us to enroll in this awesome 101 Financial System, we would have not made it through all the moves and helping our family.

We still financially help my grandparents today. We are back with my mother-in-law so my kids can really get to know her before she no longer remembers them. We took a few big family trips (2 Disney Cruises and a trip to Japan).

If I never took that moment to really listen to what my parents were telling me, and made that decision to follow them on this journey, our destiny and future would look so different. We wouldn’t have been able to help all the people we’ve helped along our journey.

Thank you,

Our Unexpected Blessing

Ford-Ohana

Before we were introduced to 101 Financial, we had a small savings, but noticed we could never keep building our savings. We had times when we were just living paycheck to paycheck.

My husband and I are not doctors or lawyers. We are just an average local family that is trying to make a living and raise our family in Hawaii.

In September of 2016, my sister Shawna told me she went to a presentation about finances. It seemed very interesting to me, because I am always interested in learning how to manage our finances better. She also sent me a link to a video presentation to watch at home.

Right after watching it, I immediately made my husband watch it. After he watched it, he told me “Find out how we can enroll in 101 Financial, because we’re getting ripped off by our bank!”

In October of 2016, we enrolled in the 99 Financial Program. I remember meeting with Maile for our very first class, we felt so nervous and ashamed because of the debt we had and how we were managing our finances. Maile was awesome, she always encouraged us and reminded us not to feel ashamed.

She always encouraged my husband to be involved, because before this, he was almost never involved. Before we enrolled in the 99 Program, my husband would just give me his paychecks and I would be the one responsible for our finances. At times this was very stressful for me because we were barely making it because our finances were so unorganized.

While we were on the 99 Program, we automated our monthly bills, calculated our weekly budget, identified our cash flow and were able to get comfortable with doing our projections on a weekly basis.

In the beginning, I felt so embarrassed because when we were looking over our money coming in and money going out, I could see we were not being responsible with our finances and I was so unorganized.

Then in February we were able to enroll in the 101 Financial System and got started tackling our bills. With the amazing guidance from Uncle Merle, within the first 2 months we were able to pay off our Nissan Armada that had a balance of $3,481, we paid down $4,000 of our credit card bill, and paid off a personal loan of $2,000.

On a regular conventional banking system, I believe this would have taken us about 3 years. We are truly thankful for Uncle Merle for always being so patient and thorough with us in our 101 journey.

It really makes a difference to receive encouragement in areas in your life that you are not familiar with. He has helped my husband to feel more confident in knowing everything that is going on with our finances now. To me, that’s HUGE!

We always tell ourselves we wish we knew about 101 Financial 5 or even 10 years ago, because we would have been in a better place today, but everything happens for a reason.

We are so thankful and grateful to Alan Akina and this amazing system that is helping local and mainland families reach and achieve their financial goals and dreams. We truly feel blessed and are super excited to see where we will be in the next 12 months!

Jesica and Jason Matsuoka

We were introduced to 101 Financial back in January 2009 and we joined right away. We implemented the tools immediately but we didn’t stick with it. At the time we had two small kids and various excuses for not paying attention to where our money was going. We just didn’t fully grasp the concepts and went back to paying our bills the conventional way.

That’s where we stayed for 8 years. We didn’t get behind or add any debt to our lives, but we never got ahead either.

Earlier this year, Jesica had a couple of conversations with a friend who is also a 101 Instructor and those conversations reminded her, “We are still students of 101 Financial. We paid our dues many years ago. It’s time for us to get back in touch and be re-introduced to the system.”

To be honest, we didn’t remember any of the 101 concepts, except we knew we had a debt checking account, and it sat there, mostly unused over the last 8 years. Barbara gave us a 1-on-1 student refresher and it all came back.

Jesica attended the next corporate workshop and it reinforced what we re-learned from the refresher. Jesica hasn’t missed a workshop since that day. We also scheduled an In Home Workshop with the Nagamine’s because we wanted our friends and family to be introduced to the 101 concepts as soon as possible.

It frustrated Jesica at first to realize how many years had been wasted when we could have gotten so much further ahead in our finances. But we also believe that all things happen for a reason, and this is our time to come back with full purpose to be students of 101 Financial, and Instructors as well. We want to make up for lost time and share this with everyone we can.

What a blessing this company is for all who need financial education and guidance. What a blessing this 101 family is. We have each other and we get to experience great things together. We didn’t fully understand the gift we were given 8 years ago, but you can bet we won’t let it pass us by again.

We are grateful to be among you, and so happy to a part of something so much bigger than any of us yet know. The future is bright! Thank you, Alan, and thank you, 101 Financial!

The Kahanu’s Financial Journey

Veronica and Alii Kahanu copy

“We are Veronica and Alii Kahanu. Before enrolling in 101 Financial I, Veronica, primarily handled the whole budget which included oversight of what our monthly income was and what bills had to be paid. But it was not organized and therefore we started to experience times when our account started to go negative because we did not have a financial plan to follow and help us stay within our budget.
This started to cause stress because with a negative bank account there was also the overdraft fees being added on to the debt, and not knowing if we would be able to feed our family of eight was very frustrating. So I finally decided to ask Eric Oshiro my sponsor how to start on 101 Financial stuff that I heard him talking about. Eric sent me to the website and told me to submit my budget for the financial analysis and so I did. Then we set up our first meeting for 99 Financial with Kamaile Heide.
At first it was an eye opening experience to actually go line by line on exactly what and when money comes in and goes out. The 3 months of projections and setting a weekly budget really helped us see how we needed to be more organized with our finances.
It was a relief for me to have that first meeting with my husband at my side. To have Alii there being involved with the budget made a big difference because prior to that he did not really know about our budget. By having knowledge of the budget and the weekly budget my husband is now able to understand how daily spending affects our family budget.
There was homework that was assigned to help us find ways to reduce our bills and also bring in more money.
We are still in the 99 Financial Program and working diligently to graduate on to 100 Financial Program, but of course it will take time and discipline. With the 99 Financial Program, I feel less stressed because I now have an organized plan for my budget. I am able to have better control over how we handle our money. And with the reading material provided from enrolling in the 99 Financial Program, we are better equipped to find ways to save money.
It is such a relief to know exactly what and when money is coming in and going out and being able to strategically plan out a weekly budget so our account does not go negative and the bills can be paid on time.
Also, thanks to our homework, I was able to talk to a mortgage lender and found out I could refinance and bring down my rate from 4.25% to 3.25% saving us $400 dollars a month.

I believe 101 Financial is a great program to be in and that everyone needs to learn these financial strategies. I look forward to reaching the 101 Financial System from 99 Financial so I can one day help others.”

Lucky to STILL live in Hawaii

Wednesday, July 12th, 2017

Macaria and Paul Carroll copy

“My husband and I became homeowners in November 2010. My goal was to become a homeowner before I was 30 years old and I transferred that aspiration to my husband Paul.

We worked very hard to build up our credit and save money for a down payment. Through hard work and perseverance… we did it! We were homeowners at 27 and 28 respectively. I was so proud that we were able to set that goal and reach it, especially in Hawaii…one of the most expensive places to live.

In the few years that followed, life happened…career changes, pay cuts, and a growing family. It was now October 2014 and we had less then $100 dollars in our savings, we were living on credit to make ends meet, and working all the overtime we could get. We were living paycheck to paycheck and on the brink of financial chaos.

We came to the conclusion we were “house poor.” I have heard the term before, but now I was living it. We were barely keeping our heads above water and the stress levels were rising.

Our one and only light at the end of the tunnel was to sell our house and move to the mainland. What a tough decision that was to swallow our pride, admit defeat, leave our home and family, for somewhere that had a better cost of living.

It was fate that I saw an old friend Jason in Target. I heard of 101 Financial prior to Jason talking to me about it, but my knowledge was limited. Honestly, I thought it was a scam, multi-level marketing… something I had absolutely no interest in. Jason invited us to a 101 workshop, and only out of pure desperation did we attend.

We saw the workshop a few days later and Alan Akina happened to be the presenter. The money principals he shared made sense. The payoff graph he showed with the 101 Financial System seemed unbelievable. With hesitation, and did I mention pure desperation, we jumped into 101 Financial full force. We decided this would be our last-ditch effort to fix our finances so we could stay home. We made the agreement that if this didn’t work, we had to move.

Fast-forward to November 2014 and our first 101 Financial class. Our starting consumer debt was an auto loan of $22,500, three Credit cards totaling $4,500, a personal loan of $3,400, a student loan over $10,000 and of course, the mortgage at about $400,000.

Using the smarter banking that 101 Financial is about, and with the guidance of Grace, we were able to pay off the auto loan, credit cards, and personal loan for a grand total of $30,400…. all in a matter of 4 months!

Unbelievable right? Well, I’m telling you we did that! That’s not all. In addition to paying off that burden of debt, we learned how to bank smarter, use a credit card correctly, and raised our credit scores from an okay 650 to an awesome 780.

Additionally, now that we didn’t have all those monthly bills, we now had a cash flow of over $1,500 dollars every month. In 4 months, we made a complete turn around and most importantly… we didn’t need to move!

As I am writing this, it feels like I am bragging or boasting about all the money we have. The reality is, we actually make less now, as we don’t work any overtime and we live off of our base pay.

It’s an incredible feeling to know that we went from struggling financially…to being more than comfortable. All because we took a leap of faith and gave 101 Financial a shot. I encourage everyone to have an open mind and take the first step to financial freedom just like we did.

I just want to say, from the BIGGEST skeptic out there…from the person that went to a workshop out of pure desperation…this is the real deal!

Thank you to Alan Akina, for sharing this knowledge with us, and thank you to Jason and Grace for inviting us.”

Prior to being on the 99 Financial Program, our finances were a disaster. We had no budget plan whatsoever. We just spent our hard-earned money carelessly.

My Fiancé also had seven different credit cards that he could not keep up with anymore. All seven went into collections. Because of all the missed payments on our credit cards, our credit scores were very low. Not being able to qualify for the 101 Financial System right away was very discouraging to us. However, we knew we had to start getting serious about our finances.

We were introduced to 101 Financial by my friend Noralyn who is also our 101 Instructor. Being on the 99 Program, we knew we would have to make some sacrifices to get where we want to be.

We learned to do three month projections which taught us how to plan ahead and budget better. The projections helped us keep track of all of our spending. We also learned to automate our monthly bills so we never miss a payment again.

Five months ago, we were able to open up a secured line of credit and now bank at one place. Before this, we had several checking and saving accounts at different banks. Banking at one bank makes it so much easier for us to keep track of our finances.

So far, we paid off $3,522.67 of debt while on the 99 Financial Program. That’s five out of seven credit cards taken care of so far.

Our credit scores jumped a little over 50 points each and are starting to slowly increase. This is something I thought was impossible.

Our goal now is to pay off the rest of our debt, continue to bring our credit scores up and graduate to the 101 Financial System.

Thank you 101 Financial for helping us take control of our finances. We feel so much better!

From Stressed To Blessed

We first heard about 101 Financial in 2013. We moved from Utah to Hawaii so Kaeo could attend school and play football. He was going to school full-time and not working much, so we didn’t think we would benefit from the 101 Financial System.

After Kaeo graduated, he was accepted into the University of Utah. Our journey brought us back to Utah. We stayed with my parents for about two months and got our first place in Provo.

We were so excited and thought it would be a cinch living in Utah.

Everyone knows financial struggles are everywhere. This was the first time we were ever making car payments, paying rent, utilities, gas bill, etc. and we were feeling it!

After only 2 short months of struggling paycheck to paycheck, arguing and trying to get the hang of being on our own, we finally decided something needed to change, when we had missed a bill and needed to borrow money to pay it.

We gave 101 Instructors Sheallene and Kimo a call. Although I was hesitant, I knew we needed financial help.

We started in the 99 Financial Program and holy smokes… IMMEDIATELY we felt such an incredible difference in our attitude toward each other, and saw a difference in our finances.

WE ACTUALLY STARTED SAVING!! By writing each dollar down, we were able to track where everything was going, even our “play money.” We advanced to the 101 Financial System and set a goal to pay off our one debt… our car. After 3 months, we paid our car off and had about $2,500 in our savings!

To some people having that much in savings may not be a lot. But for us, coming from not even having a savings account, it felt so amazing!

We have been able to plan and take trips and we are able to give our children things that we could not afford before. Something as simple as multiple presents for birthdays is now a possibility for us and we are so grateful!

Our family is happier. Our kids are happier. Our marriage is happier.

We are continuing to build a savings and have set goals that before, we didn’t even want to try! We have been so extremely blessed by this program and are optimistic about our future! We recently became 101 Instructors and are excited to share this with Utah!

We have financial peace of mind each day and are no longer worried about whether the bills will be paid, or if we have money in savings. We are getting bills paid, building our savings, and paying off our debts.

101 Financial has taught us so much and we can’t wait to continue learning and sharing!

101 Convinced the Biggest Skeptic

Tuesday, May 9th, 2017

faagau

I was a skeptic. I didn’t want our adviser, a friend, to know our financial “business” so I went into the 99 Financial Program hesitant.

It wasn’t long before we went on to the 101 Financial System, and I was still hesitant. My husband, tired of just getting by and doing banking the old way, took the lead and I am so thankful he did.

Since that leap of faith in the 101 Financial System, we opened a joint bank account (after 16 years of marriage we have never done this), our credit score improved, we bought a new car (which was something unimaginable), we have been able to travel, and our unexpected life setbacks are not as stressful using the 101 Financial System.

Our marriage has gotten better since our finances improved as well. We even have the means to bless others financially, and that feeling is fantastic!

Most recently we attended my mother-in-law’s funeral in California, all five of us! If it wasn’t for 101 Financial we know we would not have had the resources to attend as a family and say our final goodbyes.

With 101 Financial, next big step for our family will be home ownership. Can’t wait to share that story as well.”

What an Awesome Feeling

Tuesday, May 9th, 2017

sevilla

“About 5 years ago, a good friend introduced us to the 101 Financial System. Upon hearing what the program was about, we were skeptical. Can we actually pay off a mortgage balance of $135,000 in less than 5 years under this plan?

It seemed too good to be true. But since Albert Ebueng, a manager of Wells Fargo Bank, recommended this particular plan to us, we went ahead.

We couldn’t believe how easy the plan was. We did our homework, worked on the spreadsheet, took notes, and became model students.

We did not change our lifestyle. We continued to eat out, go on vacations and let the plan work itself.

In just 3 years, we paid off our mortgage. What an awesome feeling that was. What plan can you possibly follow that will allow you to pay off your $100,000+ mortgage in less time? 101 Financial!

We are extremely grateful for Albert helping us achieve our goal. Without 101 Financial, we would not be experiencing the feeling of being debt-free, and we also would still be paying for our mortgage.”

Our Credit Scores Jumped Quickly

Monday, April 3rd, 2017

Cubelo

When we heard about 101 Financial, it was too good to be true! We had to try it for ourselves.

Just like everyone else out there, we had lived outside of our means and racked up several credit cards of debt throughout the years.

Within 4 months of starting with the 101 Financial System, we were able to pay off over $15,000 of debt. The reality that we could be debt free in a year or so really set in and has motivated us even more.

One major benefit of paying all of our debt off was seeing our credit scores jump so quickly.

Our credit card utilization was down, credit scores were up and we were able to get the lowest loan rate offered on a vehicle.

The knowledge we have gained through 101 Financial has helped us tremendously.

With what we have experienced in such a short amount of time, we wanted to share our story with others with hope to help guide others just as we have been.

Paying Off A Car Loan Of $22,000 In Just Six Months

101 Financial has blessed our family’s life within such a short amount of time.

Our journey all started when our good friend and 101 Financial Instructor walked through our house while being under construction and asked, “Do you want to pay off your house in seven years?”

We laughed and said, “Yes, if that is even possible!” Little did we know that was a real possibility for us.

After our first meeting with Alan Akina we knew that 101 Financial was a great fit for our family, and immediately moved forward with our financial education.

It’s been exciting to see our success with paying off a car loan of $22,000 in just six months, that would have taken us four years to pay off. We are now working on paying off our brand new house in six years!

We can’t imagine buying and living in a new home without the knowledge we have now. We truly have peace of mind each month when our mortgage and bills are due.

We are so grateful to have found 101 Financial, for our wonderful Instructor and the friends we have made along the way.

We have been given powerful tools to help us make our family’s dream become a reality. We are very eager and excited to see what we can accomplish on this journey.

A Tremendous Difference In Our Lives

Friday, March 10th, 2017

Sheena Solomon copy

In 2009, I was a divorced mother of 2, when I met my Jason. He also had 2 children, one of which has special needs. When we met, we had both gone through very hard divorces and were forced to move back in with family.

In February of 2012, our lives changed forever. Jason and I were married and went to Lanai for our honeymoon. On the way back, while on the ferry, we received a call from child welfare services that Jason’s children were taken into the state’s custody for a situation with their birth mother. We rushed from Lahaina to pick them up.

We went through court proceedings for 10 months, and the money we saved was now being used for attorney fees. For years, we made the best of the situation, we sold pickled mango, and dry Aku to save up for a down payment again, and I learned how to coupon. But we still lived paycheck to paycheck.

After we were finally able to purchase a home, our bills grew as bills do, when you take on a bigger home. Bigger electric bills, bigger water bills, and everything else that comes with a new home.

That’s when I saw my friend Mary Jane posting on her Instagram about how she bought a home, was currently paying off her car, and paid off credit card debt. I was curious!

I reached out to her and asked “how the heck are you making all this money?” She told me something that changed our lives. “Come with me to a seminar”. One seminar. That’s all it took. We went, and it clicked!

I was doing everything I could on my own. I was cutting corners everywhere, and still couldn’t get ahead. We are middle class. We make too much to qualify for assistance, but not enough to get by.

101 Financial has made a tremendous difference in our lives. Now, we can breathe. No more paycheck to paycheck. Before 101, I was working to pay bills. Now, it’s “what can we do with our money next?”

Our new way of banking has made the biggest difference in our family. I still text my friend and coach thanking her for introducing my family to financial freedom!

It’s Never Too Late To Start

Friday, March 10th, 2017

“Six years ago we went through a year-long, very expensive, very painful divorce. Once the divorce was finalized, I was now a single mother of two daughters, and the sole owner of a mortgage. I was carrying a growing amount of debt that began from the cost of the divorce. The amount of debt I owed continued to grow… my house flooded, and eventually my oldest daughter began college. I began to worry if I’d be able to qualify for loans for her school.

In addition, in order to be able to transfer the mortgage to myself, my home was in a five-year ARM, and four years had already passed. I was starting to panic that I would lose my home. I was carrying a lot of debt and had a zero to negative cash flow each month. I knew I was in trouble when I was starting to make only the minimum payments on my credit cards and my balances continued to climb.

At work, people kept talking about this 101 Financial thing. The first few times I just blew it off. I had been to so many finance classes, and bought budgeting books. I was sure there was nothing they could teach me that I didn’t already know.

Well… after a couple of years, and as the hype grew larger, I finally decided it was time to check it out. I started the 101 Financial System in April of 2015. Jodie Agsalog and Valerie Verceluz gave me the missing tools I needed to move towards my financial success. I was able to pay off two credit cards and a personal loan in the first few months.

Since then, I have been able to pay off all of my remaining credit cards (for a total of over $50,000 in credit card debt alone). My cash flow has increased tremendously and my credit score has improved by 100 points!

I was able to purchase a new car when my old one decided to break down, I was also able to get a great deal when I refinanced my mortgage. And I have total confidence that I will be able to pay off my daughter’s student loans before she graduates from school. My biggest goal is to pay off my home in eight to ten years.

I wish I had the tools I learned from 101 Financial years ago… but it’s never too late to start.”

Miracles Do Happen

“My name is Malia Pascua. My family and I have been on 101 Financial for a little over a year. We were another family living paycheck to paycheck and not knowing where all our hard-earned money was going.

Since I saw on social media posts of 101 Financial helping others, I decided “Why not try it?” From that day we have had a 101 Instructor helping us live better lives.

From being in debt over $20,000, I learned a better way of banking and gained knowledge of where all my money was going. We are on our way to Financial Freedom.

During this time of our lives changing, we found out we were going to have another baby, and he was going to come early, at 24 weeks and 2 days. With all of this happening, our lives were put on hold to fight for our son’s life.

With my husband at home on Maui, working and taking care of our 4 children, life became a struggle once again. I stayed on Oahu for 3 months to take care of our son. With no job and one income, then came the medical bills.

How are we suppose to pay for all these bills?. We were falling behind, then my husband lost his job. Yet with the power of prayer and having faith, our lives started to turn around.

We are very blessed to say that 101 Financial helped us. They helped us get back on track, to replenish funds that we spent and to stop stressing over money.

Without this help and the 101 Financial System, I truly wouldn’t know where we would be right now. Miracles Do Happen!”

Stressed in Paradise

“I had the opportunity to work at the Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort in Maui on a temporary assignment during the spring of 2013.

From the moment the airplane landed I found myself in awe with the beauty and peacefulness of this island. I decided to move here in November of 2013, working with the same company yet a different job.

Maui provided me the personal peace I was looking for in my life, but the job was in an area that I had no experience. I was hired as a Concierge Specialist, booking activities for guests and owners.

Because it was a commission-based job, when I received the first paycheck I was in tears. I doubted my decision to move to Maui. On one hand I had peace of mind, and on the other hand I was stressed living in paradise.

I proceeded to work a part-time job to supplement my income since the money was not even close to what I was making in Orlando, Florida. Eventually a job opportunity opened up in my area of expertise dealing with customers face to face, which was not a commission-based job.

Even though the money was not equal to my salary in Florida, I found myself breathing a little bit easier. The struggle continued as life in Maui is so costly.

One morning a friend of mine Sandy mentioned this program she was about to join called 101 Financial. Once she joined the program she forwarded me their video. I looked at it and was very skeptical. “How can this be possible?” I asked. I even asked her if this was a scam, because I could not believe I could use the banks money to my own advantage.

She stated “It is not a scam. It is financial peace of mind.”

I decided to take the first step into my new stress-free financial life and contacted my Instructor Karen Patague. I started on the 99 Financial program. She taught me how to budget and live a life of financial freedom. I was no longer living paycheck to paycheck, and now I was able to enjoy my life in paradise without financial stress.

I am so thankful to my friend Sandy, Karen and 101 Financial for providing me with the tools to live a stress-free life in the Valley Isle of Maui.”

Our 101 Journey

101 Financial brings so much warmth to my heart and entered our lives at the most PERFECT time! We just got married, and will be starting a family soon with our first child.

I worked for Aloha Airlines, who unfortunately went into bankruptcy. At the same time, my husband who was a student athlete at UH MANOA graduated. The the unemployment checks and his side jobs ended so quickly that we couldn’t keep up with the necessities for our family.

We were fortunate to be living with family who helped us out with our situation, but we began to feel like we would never pay off our debt and would have to continue living with my parents for years. Our debt made us feel like our dreams and goals in life would never happen. We struggled on so many levels.

Fast-forward to the day we were introduced to 101 Financial. Our angel shared with my husband that 101 Financial helped him and his wife, so my husband took charge and watched the video.

I was skeptical, because I didn’t think anything could help us. I thought “no, we just need to make more money”… and that really didn’t feel like it was ever going to happen.

My husband attended his first class with our amazing Instructor and she guided him and worked with him every step of the way. Within the first 2 weeks on the 99 Program we started to see money in our account. By the second month she graduated us to the 101 Financial System.  With her help we paid off $45,000, our entire debt, in 8 months!

We felt like we DID IT. We felt with this financial education we CAN do anything, the sky is the limit!

We live on our own now with our family of seven. We purchased our first SUV to safely transport our family on the roads of Hawaii. We have taken our children on little staycations every year since we started our 101 Financial journey, and we recently took a huge vacation to UTAH. They had a blast visiting with family.

I am very fortunate to be a stay at home mother with my children, where I get to attend their field trips, sporting events, church activities, and be able to create my own memories with them to cherish forever.

Thank you, Alan Akina, for sharing these blessings in our lives.

Best Decision Ever!

I first heard of 101 Financial five years ago from one of my customers. During that year, Alan Akina came into my store to shop for some fixtures. He also mentioned the program to me and gave me an autographed book. At that time I was very skeptical and didn’t bother to look into it.  I just forgot about it.

Within the next five years, I worked two jobs living paycheck to paycheck, trying to keep up with all my bills. I went back to school at University Of Phoenix, but could not continue after two years because I did not qualify for any grants.

During these 5 years, “life” happened. I had to quit my second job, because it was taking time away from my son, and he had started to act out. I ended up maxing out all my credit cards and taking a personal loan to pay it off. Eventually I had maxed them all out again.

Then I received an email that my student loan repayment plan was to start in 2016. Talk about stress and anxiety! I mentioned to my boyfriend that I needed to work a second job to pay for my student loans, because I couldn’t afford to have another monthly payment, especially an extra $368 a month.

He was very angry. He even gave me an ultimatum because working a second job would take away our family time together. It created friction between us. We would constantly argue, and it was putting a strain on our relationship.

On Christmas Eve 2015, we were at my boyfriend’s family’s house and his aunty mentioned that she went to this awesome workshop about how she will be able to pay off her mortgage in 9 years. I asked her the name of the workshop, and she said the 101 Financial System.

Then it hit me… I totally forgot about this. I told my boyfriend that I heard about this program from Wes, and I would call on Monday.

Monday came and as I walked into Home Depot, there was Wes. I asked about the workshop. The next day, I met Lori and Wes at the workshop and I was hooked. It was meant to be.

This was the best financial decision I made in my life! The 101 Financial System changed my life in so many ways. Since I started 90 days ago, I paid off $20,000 of my debt, and my credit score went up 55 points.

My relationship with my boyfriend has also improved. Both of us always talked about getting rid of our debt before we got married.  He started to see what 101 Financial has done for me, so he jumped on the program. We have a bright future together and we’ll be ready to get married sooner!

101 Financial Has Been an Answer to Our Prayers

Monday, December 12th, 2016

makaiwi

When we got married in 2014, my husband and I believed we would be financially comfortable. We were taught that with hard work and education, we would thrive. My husband, Ana, worked hard and excelled at his career. I had my master’s degree and worked professionally. We had financial goals to pay off our debts, build our savings and buy a home. We thought we would quickly and easily reach our financial goals.

However, we found it to be harder than we thought to pay off debt and pay for living expenses, while building our savings at the same time. It got even harder when we decided to have our daughter, which meant moving into a bigger place and assuming all the expenses that come with having a child.

We decided I would be a stay-at-home mom, leaving the financial responsibility on my husband. We believed if we saved enough, and if he made enough, we would have enough to survive comfortably.

But with less income and more expenses, our financial goals seemed impossible to reach. While my husband had a fair credit score, I didn’t have a credit score at all. Attempting and failing to pre-qualify for the amount we wanted for a home loan, learning that we were not as financially set as we thought, was a wakeup call for us.

Despite doing side jobs and pinching pennies to contribute to our family income, it wasn’t enough. We were barely making it. My husband felt he was inadequate as a provider. I felt I was irresponsible and made the wrong choice to be a stay-at-home mom. We lived with sadness and regret over our financial shortcomings, and lost hope that we’d ever fulfill our dreams.

One night in May, 2016, when the weight of our finances seemed unbearable, we decided to take action. We recognized we were struggling and everything we tried was not working for us. If we wanted change, we had to change what we were doing.

We previously heard about 101 Financial from family members and friends, and decided to check out the website. After watching Alan’s presentation video, we decided we were ready to start our journey to financial peace of mind. We completed our financial analysis and enrolled that night.

After building our foundation with the 99 Financial Program in June, we graduated to the 101 Financial System by July. With the smarter banking we learned, we paid off my husband’s personal credit card debt and $6,000 of his auto loan within one month.

By November, we paid off the remaining $12,000 of my husband’s auto loan, which boosted his credit score. I had also qualified for a credit card and established a good credit score. We began building our savings, which previously seemed impossible. Most importantly, we felt empowered to take control of our financial destiny.

101 Financial has literally been an answer to our prayers. It helped us work on our financial goals, allowed me to be home with my daughter, and eased the financial burden my husband felt he bore alone.

We are happy and confident that we will always be able to provide for our needs and some of our wants, too. We continue to learn skills that will last forever and that we can pass on to our family.

Working hard and gaining an education can only take you so far. Being financially educated is critical in the journey to financial peace of mind.

101 Financial – Allowing Our Family to Come First

Monday, December 12th, 2016

st-laurent

“Aloha! We are Chauncey and Anuhea St. Laurent of Kaneohe and have been students of 101 Financial since September, 2014.

Before we started the program we decided I would not return to my full-time job after giving birth to our second son. Day care costs were almost equal to an entire paycheck and I’d hardly ever see my babies if I was working.

My heart broke a little every time I thought of spending 50-60 hours at work a week, only seeing my kids for a couple of hectic hours before shuffling them to and from the sitter and preparing them for bed.

However, after a few months of me staying home with two kids we realized, that despite cutting back majorly on expenses, we were depleting our savings and racking up our credit card debt. I was forced to return to work.

An old volleyball acquaintance shared 101 Financial with us. Within 3 months of starting with 101 Financial, we had re-established our savings, paid off the credit cards we had charged up during that time, and paid off one of our car loans, which was about $30,000!

Since then we’ve been able to learn how to keep track of our budget and have increased our cash flow hundreds of dollars each month, which has allowed me to be a full-time, stay-at-home mom.

We have paid off three outer island trips and a two week vacation to the mainland beforehand. That’s tons of quality time with our family, making memories and having fun, and truly enjoying our lives.

We don’t fight about money anymore and are scheduled to pay off the remainder of our debt, my student loan and the rest of our car loan, by mid-2017. After that, we will use the 101 Financial System to save quickly for our first down payment and hope to purchase our first home in 2018.

We are so grateful for this program and the financial peace of mind it has given us. We now know that anything is possible, including private school for our children’s education, regular family trips, multiple home ownership, and using our wealth to help and serve others! Also, we’re so excited that we added baby number three to our family in September, 2016!”

We Do Have One Big Regret… That We Didn’t Start This Sooner!

Thursday, November 10th, 2016

nicky-and-shane

We have only been on this journey for 4 months and what an amazing journey it has been this far. Our financial lives forever changed, thanks to 101 Financial.

Before 101 Financial, we were having a hard time making ends meet. We had just enough to pay our bills, and would be in the negative most times. We were trying to pay down our credit cards, but that was getting us nowhere! Now faced with the hard fact that the beautiful place we were living in was no longer affordable, we thought that the only choice we had was to move. Since it was so expensive to live in Hawaii, moving to the mainland became our focus.

Before that could happen, Shane brought up his parents’ success with 101 Financial. While Shane was sharing that with me, I recalled that my daughter had told me about 101 Financial a year prior. So, we looked into it and heard more success stories from a few of our friends who were greatly benefiting from the 101 Financial System. That encouraged us take the leap of faith!  After all, from what we were hearing, we had everything to gain and nothing to lose.

It was difficult to wrap our conventional banking minds around this newly taught knowledge, but we could clearly see it all coming together. We regained control of our finances from the very first day. During that first class, our Instructor Soriah asked us to list our goals. For as long as we could remember the goal was to be debt free. We honestly never thought past that.

She then asked us to list anything and everything we have been wanting to do. Wide eyed with excitement, and wondering if this was really possible… she said GO FOR IT! So we listed a total of four goals. Number one was of course being debt free. Within 60 days, we paid off $12,000. Did we REALLY just do that? Holy cow, we’re debt free!

We did that with me on workman’s comp, receiving only 60% of my normal take-home pay. We just couldn’t believe what was happening! If that wasn’t enough, a month later in September, we completed goals #2 and #3, taking a trip for just for us, and taking a family trip. WOW. The best part was, our trips were paid off before we left. We were amazed.

The awesomeness hasn’t stopped, either. We got invited by a family to join them on a trip to Disneyland this Christmas. Thanks to our newfound knowledge and control of our finances, we happily accepted.  We would have never been able to do three trips in one year, let alone within a couple months of each other, if it wasn’t for 101 Financial.

We do have one big regret… that we didn’t start this sooner! What a beautiful thing it is to have financial peace of mind!

Excited with the knowledge and financial freedom we have gained, we knew the next step was to become Instructors. We care deeply about our family and friends and are passionate about helping them build their own 101 Financial success story.

Thank you Alan Akina for sharing this wealth of knowledge! It has forever changed our lives.

Money Is of Value For The Good That It Can Do

Thursday, November 10th, 2016

monika-mali-2-copy

My 101 Financial success story is like so many shared by members throughout the 101 Financial community. I was stuck in conventional banking and it was very clear to me that it was not working. I wanted and I deserved more.

But, instead of sharing the tangible evidence of my 101 Financial success, like the amount of debt I eliminated, the money I saved, or how quickly my life changed after joining 101 Financial, I’d like to share with you, the readers, the stuff you can’t see that define my personal beliefs about why I “succeeded”.

First, I learned that money is not of value for the things that it can buy. Money is of value for the good that it can do. At the core of 101 Financial is the belief that everyone deserves financial peace of mind. 101 Financial challenges you to think bigger than the need calls for. What does “financial peace of mind” mean to you? Would you take better care of your aging parents? – What about your brother, sister, or their families? – What about your community at-large? 101 Financial was my springboard to go the extra mile, to be able to give back to my family, my friends, and my community because I am no longer weighed down by the stress of trying to make my own ends meet.

Second, I learned that money follows a specific path. If you do not know how money flows, then you can never control or reroute it. Money is the river. 101 Financial is the dam. 101 Financial teaches you how to stop living from paycheck to paycheck. 101 Financial not only gave me the skills and knowledge about the path of money, better budgeting, smart banking, debt management, and building credit, but it gave me confidence to stop placing limitations on my true financial potential.

Lastly, I learned that I must be in the driver’s seat to ensure my own successes. If we are not willing to do the work to truly take care of ourselves, what makes us think that someone else will? In reality, our jobs, Social Security, or 401Ks will not get us through retirement, let alone allow us to achieve the life we deserve. 101 Financial forces you to take an active role in your own wealth management. Yes, I said wealth management, because 101 Financial will get you out of debt and on the road to building wealth. You can be an unstoppable force.

Finally, I share with you this, there are infinite ways to define “success” and for every individual the idea of success will be different. If you are a current 101 Financial student, I encourage you to stay motivated and committed. Celebrate your successes, big or small – you deserve it.

If you are thinking of letting 101 Financial help you, take a hard look at where you are. If you are not making progress every day, to where you dream of being free, realize it’s time for a change. They say when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. 101 Financial is here, so you must be ready.

We Paid off $22,000 of Credit Card Debt in 7 Months

Thursday, November 10th, 2016

No Money

Friday, October 7th, 2016

randy-and-myra

“We had no money to pay off our debt. We were more than $100,000 in debt. Our debts included a house mortgage, car loans and credit cards. We had a little savings which we had to dip into whenever we needed to. Our savings never went up, only down.

We talked about future goals like life and burial insurance, but could not afford it. We did not know how to manage our finances. Our debt payments were more than our income and we needed help.

We decided to try another option. My husband decided to pick up overtime hours at work and I got a second job to get our debt lowered. But that was not a very good idea. It made things worse, because we would come home tired and irritable with work and each other. The one and only thing we could do was pray. I believe prayer always helps.

Thank God, one day I was talking to my coworker and she mentioned her daughter was going on a trip to Oahu for a financial conference. So me being curious, I asked “What kind of financial conference is this?” My friend said “It’s called 101 Financial.” She said “You know the guy who started it, he’s on the news sometimes in the morning talking about finances.” I said “Alan Akina?” She said “Yes that’s the guy.” I asked her, “Are you in 101 Financial, too?” And she said, “No not yet.” I asked “How can I join?” and she said “Go online to 101 Financial and do your research.”

Which I did, and that was the best day of our lives.

I went home, checked it out online and read everything I needed to know about 101 Financial. Then I shared it with my husband, he liked it, too. So we both went to a presentation and listened to everything Alan had said, and we agreed, yes the banks are using our money for their gain not ours. Right there and then, no question asked, we decided to join.

We met with our Instructor and planned for our first class. That night and the next day we read and talked about 101 Financial more and we still talk about it now. Our first meeting was for the 99 Financial Program, organizing your debt. It was really good, hands on, visually seeing where our money is going. Our Instructors showed us what to look for and how to save money and we did it.

We have saved more money in 2 months than we have saved in years. We could not believe it. Being committed, following exactly as we were supposed to and keeping in touch with our Instructors helped a lot.

Now we are moving on to the next level, The 101 Financial System. This is where we start paying off our debt, while still sticking within the budget. We already paid off 3 credit cards. Next month we will pay off more debt and every month after that, until all our debt is paid. We are projecting next year for all our debt to be paid off in full, which includes 2 cars and a house.

Thank you 101 Financial for the peace of mind we now have.

The burden has been lifted and now we can now see the light. We could not have done it without 101 Financial and your patient Instructors who have done a great job. Now we would like to be a part of your 101 Financial family, so we can help others as you have helped us.”

Giving Power Back to the People

Friday, October 7th, 2016

asuao-family“Life before 101 Financial was a struggle, living paycheck to paycheck – the story we all know too well.

Just married with a new baby, we just didn’t know how we were going to pay all the bills and still have anything left. We had a lot of medical bills from years ago that had gone to collections, it built up to about $500 dollars.

We had a wedding ring to pay for that was $4,000, a car that was $12,000, and a credit card that was $900. Along with living expenses here in Hawaii, the bills were coming fast and there was no space for anything extra.

We weren’t sure if this was for us, but we knew we needed something, so we thought we might as well hear it out. We started off in the 99 Financial Program, to me that was the best step for us. We were able to get comfortable with the basics and take accountability for our spending.

We were a lot more aware and more prepared, always knowing we would have enough for emergencies. This really blew our mind to see that we had the same paycheck, but with good planning skills and good habits we were able to make it work and never feel worried that we wouldn’t have enough.

I felt really good about what we had done. Our Instructor knew we could make it to The 101 Financial System. We were able to graduate within 30 days of being on the 99 Financial Program and from there we just flew!

We paid off our medical debt, our ring, and our credit card. We were also able to fund all the new things we needed like a new bed, fix our car, and fund big trips that we needed to take.

Now that the majority of all of that is done, we can get back to work on finishing up our car payments. We have the tools to do it before the end of this year.

The future is bright. We will be home owners soon and are excited to see what we can do after that. After learning and applying what we have learned from 101 Financial, we have the confidence, knowledge and the support we need to do the best we can for our family.

Thank you 101 Financial for giving the power back to the people!”

Thought It Was Too Good To Be True

A Huge Weight Lifted Off Our Shoulders

Wednesday, August 31st, 2016

Our story began back in 2011. We were a fairly new couple trying to blend our families together with a new bundle of joy on the way.

A friend, Melinda Anakalea, introduced 101 Financial to us after hearing me whine about our finances at work. She generously arranged for her Instructor, Tara Shim, to come out and host a small group presentation for us and a few other co-workers. I was immediately intrigued and couldn’t wait to start. My husband (then boyfriend) was not as enthusiastic!

We started our journey running two separate 99 Financial Programs because we refused to put our money together. It was a long 18 months of getting real with ourselves and each other. This was our truth, $30,000 deep in consumer debt, credit in poor/fair standing, juggling multiple jobs to make ends meet, stressed and tired. Sadly, we accepted this as “normal.”

The 99 Financial Program got us organized and created a strong financial foundation, bringing us together as one.
We jumped on the 101 Financial System together and attacked our debt with a vengeance. Within 6 months, we paid down $20,000! A huge weight lifted off our shoulders and we knew our lives were about to change.

A few months later, we got engaged. YAY! We were able to happily plan and pay for our entire wedding and a three week honeymoon adventure within 9 months. Everything was paid before we even left. Our wedding was everything we imagined it would be… simple, sweet and STRESS FREE!

Our honeymoon was an amazing start to our marriage. We enjoyed a week exploring different islands of the Caribbean on the cruise ship Allure of the Seas. We then spent a couple of days embracing our inner child at Universal Studios, followed by another week in New York City. Then we circled back to Maui for a few days where it all began before returning home to the Big Island.

Two months after returning home from our honeymoon, I made the bold decision to leave my job to support my daughter?s education, and to relieve her from all the responsibilities I had put on her shoulders to accommodate my work schedule. It was a tough decision to make, but through projections and an our undying commitment to the “budget,” we pulled through and created a better quality of life for our family.

This was my “aha-moment.” It solidified the importance of financial education and how valuable 101 Financial is to me and my family. Getting out of debt was great. Paying off our wedding and honeymoon was fantastic. However, no longer suffering from the anxiety and stress of everyday life and bills was PRICELESS!

On July 2, 2015, we hit another milestone in our 101 Financial journey. We became first-time homeowners! What?s even more exciting is knowing we have a plan in place that will allow us to pay it off faster than we ever imagined.

Opportunities are presenting itself left and right. In January 2016, we started our own bookkeeping company… DeMello I.N.C., LLC. We are also now in the process of acquiring our second home. None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for the education we received with 101 Financial.

Thank you Alan Akina and the rest of our 101 Ohana for everything! We are beyond grateful and truly appreciative.

Almost $80,000 In Debt Eliminated

Wednesday, August 31st, 2016

Like many others before us, we thought 101 Financial was too good to be true, and like many others before us, we were happily proven wrong.

Along with many other college students, both my husband and I couldn’t afford college outright and had to take out loans to afford our education. When all was said and done, I incurred approximately $110,000 in student loan debt to get my doctorate. I was overwhelmed with the reality that I owed a small mortgage back to the federal government at 6.8% interest. I was automatically enrolled in the extended-repayment plan, relegating me to pay almost $800 per month for the next 25 years.

At first, I had to defer my loans, because finding a job upon returning home from college took quite a while. Eventually, I was blessed to find a great job in my chosen field which paid a very comfortable income, but we still couldn’t pay more than the minimum amount for my student loans. We didn’t want to be stuck with this debt for 25 years, but the reality was that we couldn’t get married, save for a down payment on a house, or just save money for an emergency fund and pay more than the minimum payment.

Fast-forward a few years… we had the beautiful wedding we wanted, bought a place to call our very own, and had money tucked away in a rainy-day fund, but we were still saddled with debt. We were juggling my school loans, his school loans, the car loan for the second car we desperately needed once we moved out to the Leeward Coast, and of course the mortgage for our new home.

We were able to make all the minimum payments on all of our loans and still tuck away some money in savings every month. But after being married a couple years, we naturally started talking about having children. After analyzing our finances, we concluded that we couldn’t afford to have kids unless we stopped saving every month. We both came from single-parent homes and watched our mothers struggle financially with little to no savings to fall back on. We absolutely refused to put ourselves at risk of repeating their mistakes.

As a completely unexpected turn of events, we were invited to a 101 Financial Workshop by my husband?s coworker. She had already shared some of the financial success she and her Instructors were having with The 101 Financial System before inviting us, and while we were apprehensive, we figured if we didn’t need to commit to or pay anything beforehand, all we had to lose was a few hours of our time.

We listened intently to everything Alan had to say, and our skepticism started to melt away. What we found to be most reassuring was that it was no “quick-fix” scheme. He preached having sound financial habits and discipline as a foundation. And using his system for rapid debt elimination to build on that foundation to achieve the financial freedom he?s helped so many others attain.

That is exactly the path that we are on now. We joined The 101 Financial System almost seven months ago, and since then we’ve completely eliminated all of my husband’s student loans and our car loan, and we’ve considerably reduced the balance on my student loan debt… totaling almost $80,000 in debt eliminated.

We are conquering our debt by using Alan’s 101 Financial System to tackle our principal and minimize the interest we are paying on our loans. We finally feel ahead of things. We are projected to close out my school loan in approximately 2 years instead of 22 years and we actually feel financially comfortable to start our family.

Thank you so much 101 Financial for all you have blessed us with. We feel so empowered by the financial freedom and peace of mind you promised us from day one.

Changing Our Life With 101 Financial

Wednesday, August 31st, 2016

– Lavalle Ramos-Dias and Mark Dias

The Power of Change

Wednesday, August 17th, 2016

“I started as a client of 101 Financial in 2007. I had just gone through a difficult divorce and was at one of the lowest points in my life. For 25 years I was dependent on a husband, and suddenly I found myself at the helm ALONE, with five children who had yet to complete their college education.

I was at rock bottom, my confidence level was at an all-time low, and I was in debt way over my head with a credit score in the 500s. Then someone introduced me to 101 Financial. I was so ashamed, but he convinced me to give it a try. I will NEVER forget that turning point in my life. Thank you Jerry Jona and Lewis Lindsey for never giving up on me!

Not only did I discover a great system, I learned to THINK DIFFERENTLY. I learned to think progressively, to seek out fresh and innovative techniques, to juggle, to negotiate, to pay off debt, to set life goals and to strategize.

Today I am a CHANGED woman. The incredible power and confidence that came with 101 Financial has provided me with the ability to get my children to their college graduation and beyond. By the time my last child was a senior at LMU, tuition and expenses had capped $52,000 for one year, and I DID it, on an income of less than $35,000, all by myself! My oldest now has her own business, I have two Engineers, one Attorney, and my youngest child sells real estate.

101 Financial provided me with the skills that I so desperately needed in my time of despair. I consider it a milestone in my journey. The education is phenomenal, but moreover I am indebted for the change that occurred WITHIN myself, a person who today is much stronger and much more unconventional.

I have been able to conquer debt, outmaneuver the banks, and gift my children with a college education. But more importantly I have shown them that positive change can occur when we allow ourselves to be a catalyst for it. I’ve shown them what it means to overcome adversity, to face challenges with conviction, and to have the faith that God places people in your life for a reason. My life is a reminder to them to never doubt the power of self-reliance, and the possibilities that can be accomplished once you OPEN yourself to new thought processes!

Today I have the confidence in KNOWING that I can achieve whatever I set my mind to. I will NEVER go back to living in fear or to giving in to conformity. I am more determined and dedicated than ever to helping others and empowering them to achieve their goals. Today I am honored to assist countless parents and children with the financial aid process for college; not for financial reward, but to pay forward what has been afforded to me through the remarkable power of financial education and personal development!”

101 Showed me the World… Literally!

“Hi! I’m Gabby Desimone. I’m 20 years old now, but began my financial life right out of high school. I had always been a saver and thrifty with my money because I grew up in a household that was quite poor, always struggling to make ends meet and stressing on where money would come from. Seeing my parents always worrying and never having the opportunity to just live their life, and be in a constant mode of stress, was EXACTLY what I didn’t want for my future.

I knew that if that was to be the case I would need to be diligent with my resources and break the cycle I was raised in. I had a conversation with my Aunty Shan Otare one day, about the goals I had to travel, and she basically said: “Why not YOU…let me show you how.” That’s where the 99 Financial program came in. I immediately started to see my money not only grow, but work for my benefit.

My biggest goal was to visit Europe while still being a teenager! With the 99 Financial program, I was able to begin saving, and within literally 4 months I was able to save for a 2 month trip to Europe & the U.S. East Coast! All while still being 19 years old.

I’ve had numerous accounts of people of all ages, lifestyles, and from different countries that marvel at my capability of doing so! I ALWAYS tell them, “Believe me, it isn’t only me, the 99 Financial program has literally changed my life and has afforded me to reach some of my biggest dreams!”

Fast-forward to today, since returning from my adventurous trip, I have now graduated to the 101 Financial System, and already have the means to go on my next 2 month journey to Central America, Canada & the U.S. West Coast this summer. All while still having a savings to fall back on to. I’m already planning for a trip to Asia in early 2017.

Did I mention I work only part time as a barista and photographer? Yeah, let’s just say a TON of people are insanely interested, shocked and impressed to see me leaving again, so soon after returning from my European trip last fall.

I’m beyond thankful and feel so blessed to have an awesome Instructor and the 101 Financial System change my life like it has, and in such a short period of time! I now never have to feel that intense stress that comes with not knowing where my money will come from. I can ENJOY and LIVE my life in a state of Financial Well-Being. I used to never give in to those “this program has changed my life” quotes, but honestly I was proven wrong with 101 Financial. I mean, how many 21 year olds are able to say they’ve visited 12 countries on their own on terms, and their own dime?

Thank you Aunty Shan & 101 Financial.”

Our Journey to Being Debt-Free

Wednesday, August 17th, 2016

“Aloha, my name is Bettina, along with my fiancé and my 2 kids, we’d like to share our 101 Financial success story and how it changed our lives drastically. My family and I were introduced to 101 Financial in June 2015 and actually joined the system in November 2015. I initially knew about the system 2 years prior, but was really skeptical about it. That was until my good friend brought me to one of the seminars that was held at the MACC. Even then I was still a bit nervous about joining, but 4 months later we joined.

September 2014; my fiancé was involved in an incident and couldn’t work for 9 months. That left us with only my income. We lived pay check to pay check, with 2 kids, 2 car payments and other living expenses with only one income. We were so behind with bills that I had to sell my first vehicle in order to avoid repossession, it was the hardest decision of my life. I worked hard for it to just sell it prior to only having it for 3 years.

Both of our credit scores went down and it felt as if I was never getting out of debt. We were $30,000 or more in debt when we first signed up. As embarrassing as it sounds, we started with only $20 in our account. At that time, we had been living off of credit cards and short-term loans, that left us in a whirlpool of debt.

Then my boyfriend got his job back and I thought, things will finally change, but it just got worse. We were still doing the same things, just paying what we needed to pay every month, but never really saved anything. That’s when we decided we needed help with our finances and sent our Instructors (Jessica Salva & Karen Patague) a text message who encouraged us and helped us to better understand the whole system.

When we first signed up, we started with the 99 Financial program and after learning more about the system, we eventually progressed into the 101 Financial System. Three months into the 101 Financial System, we’ve paid off our personal loans, credit cards, late payments and also prepaid for our very first trip.

In 3 months, we paid off a little over $10,000 and still have extra on the side for our rainy day fund, our savings and future expenses. We are now working towards a second vehicle and saving up for a house extension. We weren’t expecting to do it this year, it’s a blessing that 101 Financial came in at the right time and made it possible for us to do it sooner.

Our credit scores have improved and we’ve been doing better with our finances. The 101 Financial System taught us how to control our money, how to live comfortably and be at peace. We love 101 Financial and we’ll definitely encourage families and friends to join in on the road to being DEBT FREE. Mahalo to my Instructors and to Alan Akina!”

We Cut Our Debt In Half In a Little More Than 3 Months

Thursday, June 30th, 2016

I knew about 101 Financial for a few years before my wife and I actually signed up. My brother had been doing it for a couple of years, yet, he never really explained how the program worked. For someone who is constantly traveling the world it seemed to be working well for him, and 101 Financial has supported his lifestyle. Since I never had much knowledge on the program, I was skeptical of it and never really took any interest.

Fast forward to 2015, I met the love of my life and we got married in June. Currently we live in Edwards, CA where my wife is stationed for the Air Force while I attend school full-time as a Veteran. Considering that we had to move from Hawaii, we accumulated about $26,000 of debt.

Before joining 101 Financial we were very responsible with budgeting, however, we were not where we wanted to be and still found ourselves stuck at the same spot. Eventually it created unwanted frustration and problems at home. Then in November my wife and I were blessed with news that we were going to have our first Keiki. That’s when I realized we needed help in finding a better way to handle our financial situation.

In January of this year we finally decided to see what 101 was all about. Jodee was very informative and helpful during our orientation. Immediately my wife and I became students and it was such a relief for us. In just a little over three months we were able to cut our debt down to half.

Considering that we only have one income and some benefits from the VA, it was a great accomplishment for us. Also, we were able to enjoy ourselves during the weekend and take road trips to places such as Los Angeles, San Diego, and Las Vegas.

Today we’ve realized how much The 101 Financial System has changed our lives. It has allowed us to live a better and more relaxing life. When our baby girl arrives in August, 101 Financial will provide us the opportunity to give her the best life we can possibly offer her. Ultimately, we’re very thankful for the knowledge that we’ve gained from our instructor Jodee. We’d also like to thank Alan for all that you do. If there is anyone out there that is considering 101, I highly suggest you sign up!

We Will Have Our Conventional Mortgage Paid Off In Full

Thursday, June 30th, 2016

When Cameron and I first started the 101 Financial System in 2009 we were in pretty good shape, but far from being financially fit. Most of what I knew about finances came from Cameron’s solid habits. We owned an investment home in Utah and had just bought our first home for us where we were living in Washington.

I had just given birth to our second child and I was a full time stay at home mom. Neither of us had any college debt or outside consumer debt, but money was tight and was also the center of most disagreements. In most relationships you will come across the spender and the saver.

Spoiler alert: I am the spender.

After five years of marriage and telling Alan Akina, our longtime friend, that 101 Financial wasn’t for us, we finally decided that we would give 101 a try. I was supportive in my husband’s decision, but had no idea what that meant for me; the spender. Well, let me tell you. It was long talks about what I spent at Target, followed by threats of no more name brand jeans… my kryptonite.

Like a faithful student, Cameron attended the workshop alone, and even did a few classes without me. He was even hesitant when he paid $3,100 straight to our mortgage principal in the first class. But soon he started to understand where our money was going and wished for me to learn alongside him.

I had unknowingly grown accustomed to my mother and father’s lifestyle. By no means were they extravagant but money wasn’t an issue. I had to learn that I was my own financial obligation, no one else’s. And now that I was married with a family, it became increasingly apparent that I needed to learn financial accountability.

I started this journey with no understanding of finances, not even understanding how to use a credit card. I tried to catch up to Cameron’s accounting background, and grew more and more excited as we started to familiarize ourselves with the program.

To my surprise, my oldest son was born with a clubfoot that had gone unnoticed in the ultrasound. We were hit with unforeseen medical expenses totaling in the upwards of $20,000 dollars. With the help of 101 Financial, we were able to pay off all of his medical expenses in a matter of months. And pay for any necessary treatments without feeling burdened.

I was able to provide the best for him. Within the first year, the financial stress lessened and we bought and paid off two cars. I was able to travel home to Hawaii for months at a time and still attack our Washington mortgage.

In the next few years we were able to bring our Washington mortgage down $60,000 from our original purchase price. We’ve since then leveraged the 101 Financial System to move us home to Hawaii, pay for, start up and bond our own General Contracting company, Evolution Builders. We paid off five more cars, including two work trucks, and two old cars for hobby. We also became part owners at Crossfit Zeus, where we were able to pay our share in cash, and even save over $10,000 in cash in five months. In four months we paid off our $22,000 Disney Vacation Club timeshare membership and most importantly we were able to create memories with our family.

One of the best things about being a 101 Financial System student is the comfort and flexibility of the roadmap. In the last six years our family has gone back to Seattle to visit friends and family; visited Mickey Mouse and Aulani 4 times, Disneyland 6 times, Disney World, Las Vegas 4 times, and even Utah, Mexico, Hilo, and Maui.

In July of 2014 Cameron and I finally bought our current home on Oahu. Excited to own in Hawaii, we made a goal to pay our home off in less than 8 years. Just shy of our home’s 2 year anniversary we will have our conventional mortgage paid off in full. Shattering any previous goals that we had made.

I cannot even begin to express the gratitude that I have to Alan and 101 FInancial for educating us on a better way; for pushing us to continue to learn and expand our knowledge base. To look and think outside the box, to surround ourselves with the right people, to focus on the big picture, to go after what we want and live the life we want to live.

The only joy that is better than seeing your child’s face light up the first time they see Mickey, is knowing that they will be able to perpetuate this knowledge for generations to come.

Maya Angelou said it best, “Do the best you can until you know better, then when you know better, do better.”

We Are So Grateful We Decided To Start 101 Financial

Tuesday, June 7th, 2016

When David & I were first married, we would do our finances together. Eventually I took over paying our bills and balancing the checkbook. Long story short, David is now in charge of finances and we’ve been better because of it.

He has our online payments scheduled and makes sure we have the money to pay off credit cards in full each month. And he makes sure we don’t use more money than we have in our account.

We’ve watched some of Alan’s videos and wanted to get more information about 101. We knew people we could ask but somehow never got around to it. We’ve known several people who have posted on social media how The 101 Financial System has helped them buy a house, get out of huge debt or pay for a new car.

Somehow we didn’t feel the urgency to find out more since we weren’t trapped with a lot of debt. The only debt we’ve had in our almost 10 years of marriage was my student loans from college. And with the Federal Teacher Forgiveness Program we eliminated the last $10,000 left on the loan.

We had car payments, but the interest rate was at 0% so we didn’t have to worry about paying more than we had signed up for. We weren’t living paycheck to paycheck, we paid our bills on time and had a pretty good credit score.

We were fortunate enough to recently buy a house, so now we have a mortgage and started paying for bills that go with owning your own home.

I guess it’s all about timing. We now had more friends and family that are associated with 101 Financial. They’ve asked if we wanted to go to a meeting or to a meeting in town, but for one reason or another we would miss the event. We finally had a chance to attend a meeting, heard the presentation and decided it was the right time to get started.

We met with our cousin, Soriah Tuimaunei in April 2016 and hit the ground running. Once we started, we were able to pay off the remaining $10,000 on our car and paid $45,000 toward our mortgage.

We are so grateful that we decided to start 101 Financial so we could start eliminating the rest of our mortgage faster than we could have on our own. Eventually we want to buy more property, get an additional car and go on more family vacations.

Never In A Million Years Would I Be Where I Am Today…

Tuesday, June 7th, 2016

Guess who I was? Yep! I was one of those 101 Financial nay-sayers who didn’t think I needed the help of this “education company” to teach me to be financially responsible.

My Dad had done a great job of that already! He taught me to invest, to never spend more money than what I had and to never carry a balance on my credit card. So far I had been pretty fortunate in accomplishing these goals.

For some reason, and I truly don’t know why, I decided to go to a 101 seminar. Guess what happened? A gigantic light bulb went off in my head! I literally couldn’t get my application filled out fast enough! I need this company! I need their knowledge! I need this application approved so please, oh pretty please approve me right now, because I’m ready to get on the 101 bus! That’s how it all started.

Shortly after joining The 101 Financial System, I had the opportunity to move into a larger home. I owned a little condo and needed to sell it for equity for my larger home. Guess what happened.

Yep….my new home closed before my little condo sold. And you know what that means. The only loan I qualified for was one of those really great “interest only” loans. You know, the kind where the bank gets lots and lots of interest from you with minimal amounts, if any, going towards the principal. It was disastrous! But it was all I qualified for so I had no choice.

Here’s the really great part! 101 Financial to the rescue! Through knowledge I gained with The 101 Financial System, once my little condo sold I applied for a HELOC. The really great part? 1% interest! I used that to pay off my interest only loan and now considered this my new mortgage.

Who has a 1% interest on their mortgage? Me, That’s who! That, however was years ago. My little home is now paid off and I am really enjoying the next phase of 101… investment opportunities!

Never in a million years would I be where I am today without 101 Financial. My story sounds all rosy and peachy keen, but there were a few bumps in the road. What I saved for last in my story is the fact that during all this greatness I lost my job. It was one of the most traumatic things to happen in my life. But I made it through. Guess why? The tremendous emotional support of friends and family, and that financial education from 101 that I thought I really didn’t need.

How We Made Our Finances Super Duper Simple

Tuesday, June 7th, 2016

Success Story of the Week – Shaleina Kekoa

Monday, April 25th, 2016

“My husband and I started our 101 Financial journey in May of 2015.

Prior to starting, I did all our finances. I thought I knew everything I needed to know about finances. I paid our bills on time and paid more than just the minimum balance
due.

Until one night we went to a 101 workshop that Alan was doing and we realized we were doing it all wrong.

We started with a total of $61,000 in debt with a brand new car payment, two personal loans, one credit card and one student loan.

Within the first 3 months we paid off $6,900. In the next 6 months, we paid off an additional $7,600. Now we are about 11 months into the program and paid off another $15,600.

At this moment we paid off both loans and my husband’s school loan, leaving us left with only our auto loan. Nothing we thought was ever possible.

In addition, we paid for about 4 weekend vacations (3 to Maui and 1 to Oahu) and are currently on our postponed honeymoon to Las Vegas, then to LA.

We watched several shows, went to several museums and ate, ate, ate! My husband and I decided we wanted to take my 2 nieces to Disneyland, which we also paid prior to even leaving home.

While on our honeymoon we didn’t have to worry about having to pay for it when we return home to Kona because it was ALREADY PAID FOR.

101 has given us FINANCIAL PEACE OF MIND and taught us how to BETTER BUDGET our money by BANKING SMARTER. We are tremendously blessed with what Alan had taught us.”

Success Story of the Week – Nohea Betham

Tuesday, April 19th, 2016

My story began in 2003, when I decided to go to college without a plan as to how I was going to pay for it, not knowing how much it would REALLY cost, and the mis-education of how student loans work.

All I knew was I wanted to go to Art school and I needed a degree to get where I wanted to be career wise.

Two Art schools, three private student loans and a handful of federal student loans later, I was looking at over $100,000 of debt, with interest mounting.

Fresh off graduating in 2008, married just a year, I had delusions of grandeur… that I’d get that great job they tell you is out there just waiting for YOU, and I’d be set, no worries.

A few weeks post-graduation we found out we’d soon be parents! My husband, Josh, had just been honorably discharged from the Marines and was about to start school himself (yes, more student loans).

I was concerned no one would hire me knowing I was pregnant. Well… it took 5 months after I graduated, and I was 2nd choice for an internship, part time, $10 an hour and no benefits.

A month later the student loan bills started rolling in, I had to choose between our living expenses and paying the student loan bills. Of course I chose the former, and
we all know what happens next. Missed payments led to debt collection calls, letters, lawyers and terrible credit (not just mine, but my cosigner’s as well).

After our first daughter was born we decided it would be best if we moved back to Hawaii and live with family once Josh was done with school. So we moved, thinking it would be easier to get a job back home, we will have help with baby, NO WORRIES.

When we first moved back in 2010 we had told my parents give us 3 months and we will be out. But the reality was, neither of us had jobs. This time it took me 8 months to find a job! But I was able to start making small payments on SOME of the loans; however, it was never enough.

We were always behind and living paycheck to paycheck.

We were sure once Josh got a job everything would turn around. WRONG. The debt hole just got bigger. And no matter how hard we tried no one would rent to us, and buying was completely out of the question.

Josh became a Master Technician and with that he needed tools and tool boxes, I knew we couldn’t afford these things, but with the pressure of not having what he needed to work, Josh made the decision on his own to take out a personal loan and open lines of credit with various tool vendors.

We were in over our heads and at each other’s throats!

4 years, 2 kids and 1 layoff later, the bottom dropped out, Josh was diagnosed with PTSD and a host of other mental and physical disabilities. He was fired from his job in 2014 for breaking a phone during a PTSD breakdown.

We were drowning in debt and were down an income.

Then the dynamics with my family changed for the worst. May 2015 my mom demanded that we move out. Our only other option was Josh’s family, and there we were asked to find our own place within 3 months.

I was beyond stressed at this point and our marriage had been tested every step of the way.

In July of 2015 we went on our first family trip that we had planned earlier in the year because we had received a large tax return, and were tired of never being able to do anything fun with our money.

SO, we threw caution to the wind and went.

As fun and needed as the trip was, it ultimately dug our debt hole even deeper. After the trip, we were constantly overdrawn and started to fall behind on loan payments AGAIN. Everything was a mess.

Meanwhile, I had found God. I finally decided to let go of the wheel and lay may burdens down, to find rest in him. September 2015, I was driving home from work, weary and stressed, I began to cry and pray. Then I got a text from Soriah…

“Sis, have you ever heard of 101 Financial?”

(YES, I still have our initial conversation!)

I told her I had just been praying for help in every aspect of our lives. She sent me Alan’s video workshop and I watched and was intrigued… until the end when the tuition amounts popped up! I told Soriah, it sounds great, but I can’t afford it. Her response? Let’s not worry about that yet, we will figure everything out, I’m going to help you and it will be beautiful! I decided to give it a try…

We tried to start with the 101 Financial System, and I wasn’t completely surprised by the answer… DENIED… due to credit history, credit score, and debt load to income ratio. Even though I wasn’t surprised, I was still discouraged.

Soriah remained positive and suggested I start in the 99 Program first and work to get to the 101 Financial System. So we did, and I’ve been on fire since.

I paid off $2,000 while in 99 using better budgeting to get to a positive cash flow and save. Changing my credit utilization brought my score up.

Within 2 months I graduated 99 and qualified for the 101 Financial System!

Then I was able to get my first credit card ever with a $15.5K limit, and a month later we were able to move into a house.

We are currently renting, but had anyone asked me if this was possible a few years ago, or even a few months ago, I would have laughed, then cried and said, no it’s not.

BUT, with 101, things you would have never thought a possibility before suddenly seem WAY more attainable.

I now have control over our finances; I know where all our money is and where it goes. Best part is, I’m now eliminating our debt, about $20,000 so far. We are also planning for our 2nd family trip, and this time I won’t have to worry one bit while we’re on the trip or how it will affect our finances after the trip.

I feel so absolutely blessed, and I continually thank the good lord for answering my small prayer, by sending me Soriah with the love in her heart to share Alan’s vision.

Success Story of the Week – The Tufaga’s

Tuesday, April 12th, 2016

“I’m David Tufaga and this is our story. Cherish and I have been married for 12 years and have four handsome boys that mean the world to us.

Like most other families, we struggled with financial hardships. We went from working job to job two years ago, to getting unemployed for six months. We didn’t know how we were going to pay rent and all our bills.

We were the family that would say “hey as long as we pay our bills late, at least it’s being paid”, but at the same time we didn’t know how it messed up our CREDIT.

We also accumulated a whole bunch of debt at the same time. We had a couple of repossessed vehicles, back taxes, and also loans and credit card debt that all went into collection.

We pushed through and got through the storm. As parents we never gave up and always kept our FAITH and hoped things would get better.

We heard about 101 Financial and all the good things they have to offer, but my wife was always skeptical. We also thought we couldn’t do it being a one income family. We were wrong!

The 99 Program taught us to budget, save money (something we thought we could never do because we lived paycheck to paycheck), and manage our debt.

We joined the program October 29, 2015 and we paid off all our debt in February 2016 right before we joined the 101 Financial System. Now we are working on our credit through the smart banking that the 101 Financial System opened our eyes to.

Our biggest dream is to buy a home for our family. If we stick to the financial plan our instructors have given us our dream is within reach. We are truly BLESSED to be a part of this program!”

Success Story of the Week – The Keala’s

Monday, April 4th, 2016

The 101 Financial system has been the biggest blessing in my life and I couldn’t imagine my life without it.

I first heard about the 101 Financial System 5 years ago from a really close family friend. He had nothing but good things to say about it, but at that time I let my ego get the better of me.

My husband and I talked about it a couple times but I didn’t need or want anyone telling me how to spend our hard earned money.

I felt we were doing fine without the system, we were able to do the things we wanted and buy the things our hearts desired. We were able to afford 3 kids in the span of 4 years and I was able to stay home for 3 months unpaid for all 3 kids on top of paying $2,000 a month in rent.

I was the re-financing and debt consolidation queen. I thought we were living the paradise dream until one day I found ourselves drowning in $104k of debt.

All it took was a ten minute conversation with a co-worker who shared her success with the 101 Financial System to light that fire under me to jump on this program.

My husband was skeptical of me joining, but I felt I had to do it if we wanted to eventually accomplish our dream of buying a house. We had nothing to lose and had hoped to gain everything we needed.

May 2015 I attended my first workshop and was immediately hooked. I started my journey on the 99 Program and worked hard, doing whatever we needed to, in order to graduate to the 101 Financial System.

June 20, 2015 was my first 101 class in which we paid off a $7,500 loan! Yup that’s right, one class, two hours, I paid off $7,500 towards our debt!

Fast-forward 9 months later to March 20 2016, and we have been able to pay off close to $60k in debt!

Gone is the feeling and burden of living paycheck to paycheck. And saying hello to major financial freedom! Raising a family of 5 comes at no cheap cost, but with the 101 Financial System, life is so much easier and way more enjoyable.

Before 101 I used to worry about meeting my monthly minimum financial obligations. But now with the 101 Financial System, I “worry” about not being able to drop financial booms towards our debt.

Take that leap of faith into the 101 Financial System and don’t look back. Trust me, it will be the best decision you make!

Success Story of the Week – The Miyamoto’s

Monday, March 28th, 2016

After my initial 101 Financial orientation workshop, my first impression was, “this is too good to be true.”

The presenter was very informative and taught us about different types of debt and how the interest on your debt can take its toll on your bottom line. However, in the end it sounded to me like a lot of hype, especially because nothing was revealed regarding exactly how to accomplish debt reduction.

Fast forward a few months later, when I happened to meet someone who recently started 101 Financial and was able to pay down a huge chunk of his mortgage in just few months.

This is when I started to think that maybe there is something to this after all.

My wife Joyce and I decided to “have faith and take the plunge.” Fortunately, Master Instructors Ana Magarin and Rochelle Inouye showed a lot of patience teaching old students like us the 101 Financial way.

We learned we did not have to produce more money or necessarily cut back on our expenses in order to get ahead and pay down debt. When we learned the small fee would result in us saving over $250,000 in mortgage interest, this decision was a “no-brainer.”

We knew we made the right choice.

Even with two girls in college, we have been able to pay down our mortgage much more than we ever have, and were also able to purchase a Kula property that we normally would not even consider. I tell everyone that this simple, yet powerful system is something that everyone needs to know and learn.

I also tell everyone that my only regret is that I did not start 101 Financial sooner.

I would like to thank Ana Magarin for changing our lives. Starting from her advice years ago to invest in the 529 college savings plan for our girls, to the exciting world of 101 Financial, Ana has the desire and passion to help others get out of debt so there will be no financial stress.

Lastly, I am very excited for our investment potential in the future. I like the fact that after debt is paid off, 101 Financial has the tools you need, mentors for one on one advice, and the higher education available to be able to position myself in a way that I can invest in entities I would not otherwise be able to do.

Thank you Alan Akina for sharing your wisdom through 101 Financial and for making a profound difference in our financial future.

Success Story of the Week – The Keahi’s

Monday, March 21st, 2016

“In January 2009 a friend of ours posted on Facebook. She asked if we wanted to be debt-free, and shared that she was hosting a 101 Financial presentation at her home. She said if we were interested we were invited to her home to listen. There we were introduced to 101 Financial.

I had never heard of 101 Financial or knew anything about what I was getting into. We sat down and listened to what the 101 Financial System had to offer, and decided that night to get on.

I was a bit scared not knowing what the future held for us, but I left it all in God’s hands. We started the 101 Financial System soon after.

By the next month, Michael was let go from his full time job. We were then left with only 1 income. That was also the time that there were absolutely no jobs available on Maui.

Michael was able to collect unemployment, but as we all know that lasts only so long. While collecting unemployment, we still had 2 car payments and a mortgage to pay. I paid off our 2 cars and continued to pay our mortgage. It was a bit of a struggle, but I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for 101, Michael & I would be house-less, homeless, divorced, and the list goes on.

In late 2010, I was involved with the American Heart Association where I met a wonderful person, Louise Auwae. We talked and within our conversation 101 Financial came up. I told her I was also on the 101 Financial System, but I was struggling a bit with it and did not know who to turn to.

I told Louise I was ashamed, and she replied “Don’t be ashamed.” She quickly introduced me to Rochelle who invited me to a 101 refresher. I was still ashamed when I went to the refresher, not knowing Rochelle, but I let my pride go. I was relieved to know that there was hope and what Louise told me; “don’t be ashamed.” She was really talking from the heart.

In August 2011, I took over my mom’s business of 30 years so she could retire, and enjoy her passion of raising her horses in the country. It’s been a busy year but I have a plan. And that plan is to pay of my mortgage in the next 2 years.

I can’t thank Alan, Rochelle and Earl enough for the time and dedication they have put into making our lives better, and helping us find Financial Peace of Mind in our lives. We are truly blessed to have them and the rest of the 101 Ohana in our lives.”

“Thankful and Happy. Those are the 2 words that first come to mind when thinking of 101 Financial.

We have been using the 101 Financial System, and could not be happier with what we have learned.

We were newlyweds and thought we had everything under control. I had accumulated student loans and credit card debt, and I was also paying my car loan. While preparing for the wedding, we had to use a few of our credit cards.

I was jumping around from 0% credit cards for a while and thought this would help me. It took so much time and effort to keep track of these. And I didn’t know it then, but it also affected our credit score negatively.

One day, my sister-in-law invited us to a 101 Financial presentation. After listening to the presentation, I was skeptical to say the least. “If this is so good, how come everyone is not using it?” I asked.

Because we valued my sister-in-laws opinion and were really impressed with the way we were treated, we signed up.

During the first 6 months we were able to pay off about $27,000 of debt and have been continuing our path to being debt free. We learned how to use the tools that the bank offers, how to budget effectively and how to get the most out of the money we are making.

Another benefit we got from using the 101 Financial System is that when our first child was born, my wife Lanie was able to stay home with him for more than 2 years! Something that would not have been possible if we didn’t know how to budget and if we had not paid off that debt.

A lot of things have happened in our lives in the last few years, many blessings and challenges, but we can honestly say that 101 Financial has always made our lives better, no doubt about it.

We are truly thankful and Happy!”

Life is so much better now. The peace of mind that we have in our home now is great. It wasn’t always like that.

We used to stress out about how we are going to get things done around the house, and how long it will take to save enough money to do it. The idea of what do we have to give up to save more money. As well as being able to take care of the daily needs.

The peace of mind that the 101 Financial System has given us is a blessing.

My wife was the one who handles our family finances. She had her own calendar and way of making sure everything was taken care of. After the first 101 presentation was shared with us, we were very excited at the possibility of doing things that needed to be done.

We decided to jump in the deep end of the pool and go for it. It was the best choice that we made.

Within the first month on the 101 Financial System, we paid off our tuition and two of our credit cards. It blew us away at how much we saved on interest, and how we were able to pay down the principle on our debt.

Knowing how to use what the banks had, to allow us to get ahead and not go deeper in the hole of debt, is a game changer. The system also showed us that we could project our finances down the road and know that we would be fine.

That peace of mind is the greatest blessing of all.

We just put on a new roof on our house a couple of weeks ago and plan on doing a few more renovations in the near future. We work the system and project to see that we can afford to do it – all without losing anything from our current living habits.

We are not rich, but are looking forward to paying off all of our debt including our mortgage. Then investing and saving more money for the future of our family. We are sharing this experience with children so they can have the knowledge to be financially sound to do what they want to do in their lives.

Another area of “peace of mind,” for the future of our children.

Success Story of the Week – Hana Akina

I’ve kind of grown up alongside 101 Financial. When people would find out I was Alan’s sister, they figured I was just as good with my finances as he was. But that was not the case at all.

I was never a crazy spender, but I never felt confident in my finances. In December 2013, I graduated from UH with my Masters and was left with my first real debt.

In January 2014 I got my first real job, working as an elementary librarian. Then in February I bought my first car, and was then even more in debt. I just figured I would make my payments on my student loan and car, as long as I never made a late payment. The loans were inevitable, but I knew I could pay them since I had a job. I didn’t know any different. At that time I also had no credit–my mom had to co-sign on my car.

In August 2014, I joined the 99 Financial Program and was able to graduate to the 101 Financial System within 90 days. During my first class on the System, I paid down $5,000 to my car loan… but I was too scared to do any more!

The day after Christmas, my family and I were lying around the living room, when I turned to my family and announced that I had just paid off my car. Ten months after buying my car, and just a few weeks after being on the 101 System, I paid off my $14,000 car loan! I then started attacking my student loan. I’ve currently paid about $30,500 and am set to pay off my student loan this summer. My credit score is a 740.

The favorite part of my journey with 101 is that not only have I been able to pay down my debt so quickly, I’ve been able to travel! I went to Japan, Vegas, Utah, Disney World, and New York.

This year, I’ll be turning 27, I’ll be debt-free, traveling again somewhere, and I’m already starting to look into purchasing a condo or apartment here in Hawaii. I definitely know a lot more about finances now, and I’m now setting financial goals that I never thought I would be able to do.
