Check Recalls.gov Before You Buy

Have you ever wondered if there are any recalls that apply to your car?

After seeing what is happening with General Motors and all of the problems they are having with vehicle recalls, it got me thinking…

“How do I know if my car might be up for a recall?”

So I did some research and found a website that tracks all of this stuff for us.

It’s called Recalls.gov.

You see, there are six different federal agencies with vastly different jurisdiction that have joined forces to create a “one stop shop” for US Government recalls.

Besides tracking motor vehicle recalls, this website tracks more than 15,000 consumer products, boat stuff, food, medicine, cosmetics and environmental products.

You can check out the most recent recalls with one click.

I also suggest you sign up for the free email notification service. Then remember to visit Recalls.gov before purchasing a new car or major appliance.
