College Financial Aid Deadlines

Do you have kids planning on going to college next school year?

If you do, I’m sure you already know how expensive college tuition can be. One of the most important things you can do is apply for scholarships and grants to offset tuition costs.

To get the coveted financial aid dollars available, schools and states use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, better known as FAFSA.

The FAFSA is key to being considered for most types of aid, including: scholarships, grants, work study jobs and loans.

Here’s the great news, most grants and scholarships do not have to be repaid, which could mean 1000’s of dollars in free money for you.

The FAFSA is also the starting point to qualify for a PELL Grant and most other scholarships and grants, that require the SAR that comes from this application.

For the upcoming school year, the deadline to get your FAFSA in is June 30, 2017. I suggest you don’t wait till the last minute.

Remember that it’s a first come first serve basis, so the earlier you get it in the more options you have.

You see, the application process opened on January 1st of this year and most of the scholarships and funds may already be handed out.

Getting your application in now will increase your chances of getting funds.

To get started today, go to FAFSA.ED.GOV.
