Handling The Cost of Pet Care

Are you having trouble affording proper pet care? If so, there may be help for you and your pet. There are many great organizations that do not want to see pets suffer.

Here are 4 resources to explore:

1. Did you know that there is a pet food bank? The Humane Society in many states, including Hawaii, offers this service. All you need to do is go to the website of your local Humane Society, and fill out a food request application online.

2. Petco offers low-cost vaccinations at each of their locations about once a month. You can get vaccinations for $25 each, Micro chipping for $20 and flea and tick medication for $30 to $40. Call a store near you to find out the schedule.

3. Some vet clinics may offer payment plans to help you with treatments. Call around and ask them if they are willing to work out a payment plan for you.

4. If the cost of a procedure seems high, get a second opinion.
