Thousands of Free Audio & eBooks

In this tip, I have another unique Christmas gift idea for you, and can even be free.

If you, your kids and your family are like me, and love to read a good book or listen to audio books, this Financial Fitness Tip will give you access to more books than they could ever find time to read or listen to…all without costing you a dime.

The website Librivox.org enlists volunteers from across the globe, who record chapters of books in the public domain, and release the audio file online for free.

What that means is any book published before 1923 has become part of the public domain. So all of their audio books are free for you to use for whatever purpose you wish.

For text versions of these classic books visit Project Gutenberg, at Gutenberg.org This site offers over 47,000 free ebooks available for download or to be read online. Some of the most popular books include Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, A Tale of Two Cities and Moby Dick.

Because each of these sites are driven by volunteers and donations, you will not have to put up with ads or marketing messages, either.

All you have to do to put together an incredible gift, especially for a young person, is get an old usb flash drive or mp3 player you have lying around. Then fill it up the flash drive with dozens and dozens of audio books and ebooks. And fill up the old mp3 player with the audio books.
