Today Is “Data Privacy Day”

Today, Wednesday January 28th is “Data Privacy Day.”

What is Data Privacy Day? It’s an annual internationally designated day designed to promote awareness about privacy.

When we use internet-enabled devices to socialize, text, chat, make calls, check in, bank and shop, we are sharing some of our personal data.

Understand that your personal information is data, and this data has value to retailers as well as cyber criminals.

Do you have electronic gadgets that access the internet everyday? Do you use a smart phone, laptop, tablet, TV, or desktop computer?

Here are 2 things you should never do:

1. Don’t give your social security number to anyone unless you know it’s a trusted source. And then think twice.

2. Don’t give out your bank account information online.
